Post 2 Officer Nominated for 2012 IACP Trooper of the Year Award

Madisonville, KY. – On Friday, March 15, 2013, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Trooper of the Year Award Ceremony was held in New Orleans, LA. Kentucky State Police Detective Dan Morck was one of four nominees for this prestigious award. Candidates were selected from the following regions: North Central, Mountain Pacific, North Atlantic, and Southern. (Det. Morck had previously been selected among nominees in twelve states as the 2012 Southern Region Trooper of the Year.)
Det. Morck was nominated for his efforts to combat child exploitation. Throughout 2012, he has worked on numerous cases involving child pornography and suspected sexual predators. These investigations have resulted in charges against a number of individuals living and working in proximity to young children.
Det. Morck is an 11-year veteran of the KSP. He has been assigned to Post 2 Madisonville his entire career. He served six years as a uniformed trooper and the past five years as a detective. In 2009, Det. Morck became the Post 2 Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) detective. He currently resides in Madisonville with his wife and three children.
