Livingston County Man Sentenced in "Chop Shop" Operation

(Smithland, Ky.) - On Wednesday October 16, 2013 a Hampton man was sentenced in Livingston Circuit Court after being convicted of offenses related to a "chop shop" operation that was discovered by Kentucky State Police and local law enforcement, after the agencies executed a search warrant at his home on January 31, 2013.

Joseph 'Shane' Robinson (38) was convicted of the following felony offenses:

The stolen property found in Robinson's possession was from reported thefts/burglaries in Lyon County, Crittenden County, Marshall County, as well as thefts in the states of Ohio and Tennessee.

Robinson was sentenced today by Livingston Circuit Court Judge C.A. Woodall to sixteen (16) years in state prison for the above-related offenses.

At the time of the offenses, Robinson was a member and officer of the local chapter of the Iron Horsemen Motorcycle Club, a criminal group/gang as recognized by the United States Department of Justice.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Carrie Ovey-Wiggins. The investigation was conducted by Detective Frank Gresham and Lieutenant Brent White of the Kentucky State Police.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Lyon County Sheriff's Department, Livingston County Sheriff's Department, and Crittenden County Sheriff's Department.
