KSP working death investigation in Livingston County

Date of News Release: 10/01/2013

(Smithland, KY.) - The Kentucky State Police is investigating a death in northern Livingston County near Berry's Ferry Landing on the Ohio River. At approximately 10:12 A.M. KSP received a call of a body in the river near the bank. The body was later identified as, William A. Quertermous, 79 of Paducah, KY. Quertermous was pronounced dead on the scene by Livingston County Deputy Coroner. The initial investigation reveals that Quertermous slipped and fell into the water. No foul play is suspected at this time.

Detective John Sims is continuing the investigation. Detective Sims was assisted on the scene by the Livingston County Coronerís Office, and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.
