Arrest made in 2008 Trigg County Murder

(Hickory, KY.) - On September 5, 2013 the Kentucky State Police obtained an arrest warrant on Seth C. Hooks, 28 of Owensboro, KY. for the murder of Harvey Choat in March 2008. The Owensboro Police Department served the arrest warrant on Hooks and he was lodged in the Daviess County Jail.

On September 3, 2013 the Trigg County Sheriff's Office received a tip about Hooks. Hooks was interviewed by the Kentucky State Police and Trigg County Sheriff's Office. The interviewed resulted in KSP obtaining an arrest warrant along with new evidence linking Hooks to the murder.

The investigation is continuing by Detective Steve Silfies. Detective Silfies has received assistance from the Owensboro Police Department and the Trigg County Sherriff's Office.

Trigg County Murder Investigation

Date of News Release: 03/20/2008

(Hickory, KY) - On March 18, 2008 Kentucky State Police received a call reporting that a local resident had been found dead in his home. Upon units' arrival, the homeowner, 64 year-old Harvey Choat, was found deceased in his residence. An autopsy was conducted at the Medical Examiner's office in Madisonville on March 19, 2008. The manner of death was determined to be homicide and the cause of death was attributed to gunshot wounds. The investigation into this homicide is currently ongoing.
