KSP post 1 says goodbye to 6 retiring Troopers

(Hickory, KY.) -- The Kentucky State Police Post 1 recently honored 6 Troopers as they prepare to retire July 31, 2013. Lieutenant Jonathan Grant, Sergeant Sam Steger, Sergeant Bill Lockwood, Master Trooper Clint Davis, Master Trooper Chris Anderson, and Detective Jerry Jones were honored in a ceremony on July 19, 2013.

Lieutenant Grant began his career with the Kentucky State Police in April, 1993. After graduating from the Kentucky State Police Academy in September, 1993 he was assigned to the Mayfield Post.

Throughout his career he has had numerous assignments within the agency:

Lieutenant Grant currently resides in Graves County with his wife and three children.

Sergeant Steger began his career with the Kentucky State Police in January, 1998. After graduating from the Kentucky State Police Academy in June, 1998 he was assigned to the Mayfield Post.

Throughout his career he has had numerous assignments within the agency:

Sergeant Steger received three, Official Letter of Commendation's from the State Police Commissioner, during his career. He was awarded a Commissioner's Commendation and was the Mayfield Trooper of the Year in 2001. Sergeant Steger graduated from the FBI National Academy in 2010. Prior to joining the Kentucky State Police Sergeant Steger worked for the Murray Police Department. Sergeant Steger resides in Calloway County with his wife and two children.

Sergeant Lockwood began his career with the Kentucky State Police in October, 1994. After graduating from the Kentucky State Police in April, 1995 he was assigned to the Mayfield Post.

Throughout his career he has had numerous assignments within the agency:

Sergeant Lockwood received three, Official Letter of Commendation's from the State Police Commissioner during his career. Sergeant Lockwood resides in Graves County with his wife and two children.

Master Trooper Davis began his career with the Kentucky State Police in July, 1989. After graduating from the Kentucky State Police Academy in November 1989 he was assigned to the Mayfield Post. Master Trooper Davis has served his entire career at the Mayfield Post. He has received two Official Letter of Commendation's from the Kentucky State Police Commissioner during his career. Master Trooper Davis resides in Carlisle County with his wife and daughter.

Master Trooper Anderson began his career with the Kentucky State Police in October, 1994. After graduating from the Kentucky State Police Academy in April, 1995 he was assigned to the Mayfield Post. Master Trooper Anderson has served his entire career at the Mayfield Post. During his career, Anderson earned the Citation for Meritorious Service with "V" device, and the Commissioner's Commendation medal, he also received three, Official Letter of Commendation's by the Kentucky State Police Commissioner during his career. Master Trooper Anderson resides in Lyon County with his son.

Detective Jones began his career with the Kentucky State Police in October, 1994. After graduating from the Kentucky State Police Academy in April, 1995 he was assigned to the Mayfield Post.

Throughout his career he has had numerous assignments within the agency:

During his career Jones was Post 1 Trooper of the Year three times. Detective Jones received the Silver Ribbon State-level Outstanding Law Enforcement award in 2009. Prior to joining the Kentucky State Police Detective Jones worked for 10 years with the Rolla, Missouri Police Department. Detective Jones resides in Graves County with his wife and two children.
