Carlisle County Grand Jury returns True Bill on KSP investigation

(Bardwell, KY.) -- Kentucky State Police Detective Kyle Nall charged Jay Pender, 43 of Milburn, KY with Murder, in connection with the death of Scott Daniel McBride. The Carlisle County Grand Jury returned a true bill after the investigation was presented on Thursday, July 18, 2013 by Detective Nall. Pender was lodged in the Hickman County Jail.

KSP Investigating Shooting in Carlisle County

Date of News Release: 06/15/2013

(Milburn, KY.) -- On Friday, June 14, 2013, at approximately 6:45 PM, Kentucky State Police received a 911 call from Carlisle County Deputy Coroner Laura Pender in reference to a shooting that took place outside of her residence. Pender explained to the 911 Dispatchers that her husband, Jay Pender, 43, of Milburn, had been involved in an altercation with her brother, and the altercation ended with gunfire. The altercation and subsequent shooting led to the death of Scott Daniel McBride, 49, of Milburn.

Detective Kyle Nall of the Kentucky State Police is leading the investigation with the assistance of Graves County Coroner Philip McClain and the Carlisle County Sheriffs Office. At this time, no charges have been filed; however, the investigation is ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available. An autopsy has been scheduled for Sunday, June 16, 2013, in Louisville, Kentucky.
