Veterans Appreciation Day

WHAT: Veterans Appreciation Day.
WHEN: Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 12-4 pm.
WHERE: Smothers Park (Owensboro Riverfront).
WHO: Entire Public, with All Veterans as Our Honored Guests.
WHY: On Thursday, October 17th, local law enforcement (Owensboro Police Department, Daviess County Sheriff's Office and Kentucky State Police) in collaboration with AARP, will be hosting an event at Smothers Park to recognize the many contributions and sacrifices made for us by our veterans. Police officers, deputies and troopers will be on hand to grill and serve hamburgers and hotdogs to all who join us. The veterans will be given the opportunity to meet and speak with the officers there. The goal is to convey to our veterans the appreciation and respect our profession has for them. The community is invited and encouraged to attend.
