News Release

Hazardous Device Investigation in Hancock County

Date of News Release: 05/20/2013

Henderson, KY -- Kentucky State Police responded to an anonymous call of a complaint that Larry Cecil was in possession of bomb making materials and was also selling marijuana from his residence. Upon arriving Troopers made contact with Cecil and searched his residence. Inside the residence Troopers located a variety of explosive materials, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. Upon locating the explosive materials, Troopers secured the area and requested assistance from the Owensboro Police Dept. Hazardous Device Unit. The Owensboro Police Dept. responded to the residence and disposed of the explosive materials.

Cecil was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Trafficking in Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Cecil was transported to and lodged in the Breckenridge County Detention Center.
