Felony Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon in Carter County
Date of News Release: 11/14/2013
(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police have arrested a Carter County Sheriff's Office Reserve Deputy after receiving a report stating he was a convicted felon and in possession of a firearm.
On November 13, 2013 The Kentucky State Police Ashland began an investigation into the allegations.
During the course of the investigation evidence substantiated the allegations. It was determined Mr. Dickerson was in possession of a firearm, while performing his duties as a Reserve Deputy with the Carter County Sheriff's Office. The Investigation also revealed Dickerson is a Convicted Felon. It was determined Dickerson had been with the Sheriff's Office for approximately a year and a half and at this time has been suspended.
On November 14, 2013 Tracy J. Dickerson, age 61, of Grayson KY, was arrested lodged in the Carter County Detention Center and charged with:
Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
The investigation is ongoing by Detective Jeff Kelley.
