Assault Occurs In Knott County

Date of News Release: 07/21/2013

(Hazard, KY) -- On July 21, 2013 at approximately 20 minutes after midnight Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a call stating that 23 year old Steven Rogers had been assaulted at Topmost in Knott County and was being treated at the St. Joseph Martin Hospital at Martin Ky.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Rogers and Keith Michael Castle were intoxicated and got into a physical altercation, which resulted in Castle brandishing a knife and then stabbing Rogers. Castle then fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel.

No arrests have been made, but police are attempting to locate Castle for an interview in relation with the incident. The investigation is continuing by Det. Chris Collins with the Kentucky State Police.
