Triple Fatality Collision in Perry County

Date of News Release: 07/03/2013

(Hazard, KY) -- On Wednesday July 3, 2013, at approximately 1:18 p.m., Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a call of a two vehicle collision in Perry County. Troopers, Perry Sheriff's Department, EMS and rescue units were dispatched to the scene on KY 15, in the Engle community. Upon arrival by EMS, the Perry County Coroner was requested at the scene.

The preliminary investigation by KSP, determined that a 1998 Ford Contour, operated by 29 year old Billie J. Caudill of Jackson, KY was traveling south on KY 15, when the car crossed the center line and entered the northbound lane. The car collided with a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 truck, which was traveling north on KY 15. The truck was being driven by 70 year old William L. Belcher, of Crocketsville, KY. Billie Caudill was airlifted to UK Medical Center for treatment of her injuries, while a passenger in her vehicle, 33 year old Danny L. Caudill, of Jackson, KY, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Perry County Coroner. William Belcher and his passenger, Lillie K. Belcher, also of Crocketsville, were also pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation of this collision is continuing by KSP Detective Randy Combs.
