Knott County Armed Robbery Investigation

(Hazard, KY) -- A Knott County man has been arrested by Detectives with the Kentucky State Police in Hazard in connection with two Armed Robberies of Ameri-Cash off Roger Combs blvd in the City of Hindman. On Friday January 4th at just after 1:30 P.M. an armed robbery was reported by an employee of Ameri-Cash.

The suspect who was driving a white Ford Exploer entered the business armed with a handgun and was dissarmed in the business and subdued by a citizen until law enforcement arrived a short time later. Through further investigation Eric L. King, age 39 of Leburn, KY has also been charged with the December 18th, 2012 Armed Robbery of the same business. Eric L. King is lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail and is charged with two counts of Robbery 1st Degree. Detective Chris Collins is in charge of the investigation.
