Sadieville Woman Killed in a Collision on US 62
Date of News Release: 08/01/2013
(Georgetown, KY) -- On August 01, 2013, Kentucky State Police, Frankfort Post, responded to a two vehicle collision on US 62, Cynthiana Pike, approximately 6 miles north of Georgetown.
A black, 2001 Toyota Highlander, operated by Karla J. Hopton, age 59, of Sadieville, KY, was traveling westbound on US 62 when her SUV crossed into the eastbound lane. The operator of the Toyota collided head on with a white, 1999 Peterbuilt Semi Truck, operated by Christopher B. Fisher, age 36, of Demossville, KY.
Karla J. Hopton was pronounce deceased at the scene of the collision by Scott County Coroner's Office.
The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police, Frankfort Post Reconstruction Team.
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by Scott County Sheriff's Office, Scott County EMS, Scott County Fire and Scott County Coroner's Office.
