One Killed in a DUI Collision on US 25 in Scott County

(Georgetown, KY) -- On July 14, 2013, Kentucky State Police, Frankfort Post, responded to a single vehicle collision on US 25, Cincinnati Pike, 4 miles north of Georgetown.
A 1996 Chevrolet Camaro, being operated by Anthony Scott Ryman, age 30, of Cocoa, FL, was traveling Northbound on US 25, Cincinnati Pike, when the driver lost control of the vehicle in a curve. The operator of the Chevrolet skidded off the roadway, striking a culvert, causing the vehicle to go airborne. The vehicle struck a light pole and overturned. The driver was transported to University of Kentucky Hospital by Scott County EMS.
A passenger in the vehicle, Brian D Armstrong, age 48, Etowah, TN, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision by the Scott County Coroner. A preliminary investigation of the collision indicates alcohol and excessive speed are possible contributors. The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police, Frankfort Post Reconstruction Team.
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by Scott County Sheriff's Office, Scott County EMS, Scott County Fire and Scott County Coroner's Office.
