Frankfort Man Killed in a Collision on I-64

(Shelbyville, KY) -- On Thursday, June 13, 2013, at 3:34 p.m., Troopers from the Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post responded to a two vehicle collision on westbound Interstate 64, at the 35 mile marker in Shelby County.
The collision investigation revealed that a Toyota pickup operated by Charles E. Moore of Frankfort, KY age 38, was traveling west on I-64 when he drove into the rear of a large recycling truck. The recycling truck was slowing down in traffic when the collision occurred. Charles E. Moore was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Shelby County Coroner. Mr. Moore was not wearing a seat belt. The operator of the recycling truck William Gram of Indiana was not injured. The interstate was reopened at 7:05 pm.
The collision is being investigated by Post 12 Collision Reconstruction Team. The Kentucky State Police were assisted by the Shelby County Coroner, Shelbyville Police Department, Shelbyville Fire and EMS.
