Frankfort Post Memorial Day Holiday 2013

(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort reports there were no fatal collisions in our seven counties in the Post 12 area during the 2013 Memorial Day Holiday. Preliminary statistics* indicate that six people died in six separate crashes on Kentucky's roadways during the official Memorial Day holiday period, which began at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24 and ended at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 27.
Post 12 Troopers issued a total of 547 citations during this period
162 citations for speeding
88 citations for seat belt violations
0 child restraint violation
13 DUI arrests
104 criminal arrests
180 other citations
There were 6 traffic collisions investigated and 8 traffic safety checkpoints conducted. This data is preliminary and comes from Post 12 Frankfort.
