Crestwood Man Killed in a Motorcycle Collision on Aiken Road
Date of News Release: 04/10/2013
(Simpsonville, KY) -- On Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at approximately 7:50 PM a fatal single vehicle collision occurred in Shelby County, approximately 4 miles west of Simpsonville, KY. A 2006 Blue Yamaha Motorcycle was traveling east on Aiken Road, operated by Steven A Ball, age 40, of Crestwood, KY. The motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve, causing the driver to lose control, leave the roadway, striking a road sign.
The operator of the motorcycle was pronounce deceased at the collision scene by the Shelby County Coroner's Office. The operator of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet. Excessive speed is a contributing factor to the collision.
Kentucky State Police were assisted in the investigation by Shelby County EMS, Simpsonville Fire Department and Shelby County Coroner's Office.
The collision investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police Post 12.
