A Second Spencer County Fire Under Investigation

(Frankfort, KY.) -- On Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 4:07 am, a fire was reported at 146 Mt. Eden Road in Spencer County. The Mt. Eden Fire Department responded to the scene and found that the property involved was a vacant, two-story building. The structure had been vacant for some time and collapsing in on itself. The fire caused an undetermined amount of damage to AT&T fiber optic phone lines that interrupted telephone and 911 services.
On Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 5:10 am, a fire was reported at 26 Van Buren Road Mt. Eden, KY. The property involved was a vacant, two-story building. The structure had been vacant for some time and had no electrical service or utilities.
Anyone with information about this fire is asked to call the Kentucky Arson Hotline at 1-800-27-ARSON. The Kentucky State Arson Task Force is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the arsonist. Callers may remain anonymous.
The investigation is ongoing by the Post 12 Arson Investigator and the Mt. Eden Fire Department.
