Trafficking Marijuana Investigation in Clay County

(LONDON, KY.) - On Friday, October 11, 2013 at approximately 12:00 AM, Troopers William Cowan and Justin Oliver were conducting a highway safety check point on old US HWY 421 when they received an anonymous tip that Robert Reid was Trafficking in marijuana from his residence located on HWY 638 in Clay County.
Upon arrival at the residence Troopers contacted Mr. Reid and received consent from him to search in and around his residence. Their investigation lead to the discovery of nearly one pound of processed marijuana, a set of scales and $600.00 in US currency, outside the residence Troopers discovered five marijuana plants growing.
Arrested was Robert C. Reid, 57, of Manchester, and charged with Cultivating Marijuana and Trafficking in Marijuana. He was lodged in the Clay County Detention.
Trooper William Cowan is continuing the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Trooper Justin Oliver.
