Drug Arrest and Investigation in Laurel County

(LONDON, KY.) -- On Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 2:41 pm Sergeant Lafe Owens, along with KSP Detective Darren Allen were on routine patrol on Interstate 75, when they stopped at a local fuel station 10 miles north of London in Laurel County, when they observed a male subject (Everett Stone) exhibiting suspicious behavior.
Sergeant Owens and Detective Allen approached Mr. Stone and developed a conversation with him and determined that he was the operator of a Recreational Vehicle. During the conversation Troopers developed a suspicion of possible illegal activity, and received consent to search the RV by the owner (Michael Mast).
Upon further investigation Troopers discovered 3.2 pounds of processed and packaged Marijuana inside the RV, and also seized $3,400.00 in US currency.
Everett Stone, 55, of Wooster, OH and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana.
Michael A Mast, 49, of Wooster, OH and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana.
Brenda Haynes, 50, of Wooster, OH and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana.
All three were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
The investigation is continuing by Sergeant Lafe Owens. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Detective Darren Allen, Trooper Jason McCowan, Trooper Eric Moore, Trooper Ryan Loudermilk and Officer Duffy Sutton.
