UPDATE: Fatal Traffic Crash in Wayne County

(LONDON, KY.) -- As a result of the three vehicle collision which occurred in Wayne County on September 03, 2013, Gladys Parmley, 69, of Monticello passed away at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was a passenger of the 1992, Dodge, Caravan. Trooper Craig Reed is continuing the investigation.

Fatal Traffic Crash in Wayne County
Date of News Release: 09/03/2013
(LONDON, KY.) -- On Tuesday September 03, 2013 at approximately 1:25 PM, the Kentucky State Police, post 11 London, received a report of a three vehicle traffic crash, with a fatality, on KY 90 in Monticello, KY.
Upon arrival Traffic Crash Reconstructionist Trooper Craig Reed determined that a 2002, Kia Spectra, operated by Eric Branscum, 25, of Sterns was traveling East bound on KY 90 when he struck a 2003, Toyota Camry, in the rear also traveling East bound operated by Jessica Whitaker, 28, of Somerset.
After impact the Toyota Camry traveled into the West bound lane of KY 90 and was struck in the passenger side by a 1992, Dodge, Caravan, traveling West bound operated by Veila Stephenson, 75, of Monticello.
The operator of the Toyota, Camry was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center and listed in critical condition.
The passenger of the Toyota, Camry Louanne Ellis, 57, of Somerset was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner.
The operator of the Dodge, Caravan was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center and listed in critical condition.
The passenger of the Dodge, Caravan Gladys Parmley, 69, of Monticello was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center and listed in critical condition.
Alcohol and Drugs are not suspected.
Eric Branscum was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. The operators and passengers of the Toyota, Camry and the Dodge, Caravan were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
Trooper Reed is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by Trooper Justin Oliver, the Monticello Police Department, Wayne County EMS, the Monticello Fire Department, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and the Wayne County Fire Rescue.
