News Release

Meth Lab Investigation and Arrest in Rockcastle County

Date of News Release: 03/12/13

(LONDON, KY.) -- On Monday, March 11, 2013 at approximately 7:47 p.m., the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of drug activity at a residence on Pittman Lane in the city limits of Mount Vernon in Rockcastle County, KY.

Upon arrival Trooper Adam Childress discovered two (2) active one step Meth labs inside the residence and arrested Dallas Kirby, 62, of Mount Vernon and James L. Hellard, 31, of Mount Vernon.

Kirby and Hellard were each charged with one (1) count of Manufacturing Methamphetamine 2nd or Subsequent Offense and lodged in the Rockcastle County Detention Center.

Trooper Childress is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by the Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office and Mount Vernon Fire Department.
