Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest in Knox County

(Bimble, Ky.) - On December 3, 2013 at 9:30 P.M. Kentucky State Police Trooper Brent Sizemore made a traffic stop on a 2003 Maroon Chevrolet Tahoe that was traveling south on U.S.25E in the Bimble community of Knox County. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officer Landry Collett assisted with the traffic stop and located a hidden container underneath the vehicle. The hidden container contained 975 Oxycodone pills and 205 1/2 Alprazolam (Xanax) tablets. The traffic stop was a result of an ongoing KSP Desi East investigation.
The operator of the vehicle, Eddie Carroll, 50, from Ingram KY, was arrested and charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree and Trafficking Controlled Substance 3rd degree.
The passenger of the vehicle, Beverly Hoskins, 42, from Harrogate TN, was arrested and charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree and Trafficking Controlled Substance 3rd degree.
Eddie Carroll and Beverly Hoskins were both lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
Case is still under investigation by Det. Jim T. Whitaker from the KSP Desi East Section. Also assisted on the traffic stop were KSP Vehicle Inspections, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, and Troopers from Post 10 Harlan.
