News Release

Arrest in Knox County Sodomy Case

Date of News Release: 05/28/2013

(Girdler, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan made an arrest in a 2003 Sodomy 1st degree investigation, victim being under the age of 12 years old. Jerry Amundsen, 43, formerly from Girlder, Ky was indicted by the Knox County Grand Jury. Mr. Amundsen fled the state prior to being arrested on the indictment warrant. He fled to Alaska then subsequently left the United States. Mr. Amundsen was located in South Korea in 2013. The United States Marshals Service assisted Post 10, Harlan by transporting Mr. Amundsen from South Korea to California. The Knox County Sheriff's Dept. then transported Mr. Amundsen back to Kentucky where he is lodged in the Knox County Detention Center and now awaiting charges. Trooper Doyle Halcomb is in charge of the investigation.
