Knox County Structure Fire Fatality
Date of News Release: 03/12/2013
(Gray, Ky.) -- On March 9, 2013 at approximately 9:57 Kentucky State Polic Post 10 Harlan received a call from Knox County 911 in reference to a structure fire in the Gray community of Knox County. The caller advised that there were several subjects inside the residence deceased. Kentucky State Police Troopers, Detectives, and Arson Investigators are standing by at the scene, prepared to begin the investigation. The number of people dead and their identities are still unclear at this time.
On March 12, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. Knox County Coroner Mike Blevins released the preliminary autopsy report to Detectives at Post 10 Harlan. The report showed that no foul play was involved and all seven individuals died in result of smoke inhalation.
Arson Detective released that no foul play is suspected into the fire. Det. Bunch is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire but said that arson is not suspected.
