Injury Collision on I-64 in Rowan County

Date of News Release: 02/04/2012

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On February 4, 2012, at 2:31 PM, Kentucky State Police in Morehead received a call from the Morehead Police dispatch and were advised of a two vehicle injury accident. Trooper Joshua Preece, Trooper Chris Jones, Rowan County EMS, and the Farmers Fire Department responded to the scene at the junction of KY801 North and the westbound on ramp of Interstate 64. Brittany Ballard was operating her 2004 Oldsmobile Alero north on KY801. Mrs. Ballard attempted to make a left turn onto the I64 westbound on ramp, when she crossed the path of Homer Mullins, who was traveling south on KY801 in his 2004 Ford F-150. Mr. Mullins struck Mrs. Ballard on the passenger side, and both vehicles came to rest in the south bound lane of KY801. Both Brittany Ballard and Homer Mullins were transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Joshua Preece.
