(Stanford, KY) -- On Monday January 9, 2011 Kentucky State Police were contacted by the Bluegrass 911 center to investigate a serious collision on US 127 in Lincoln County. Trooper First Class Eric Taylor responded to the scene.

A 2003 Nissan Altima operated by Katlyn Bottom, 17 years old, of Harrodsburg, and occupied by Douglas Bottom, age 45 also of Harrodsburg, was stopped facing south on US 127. Mrs. Bottom was waiting for north bound traffic to clear before turning left into the Arcadia View subdivision. A 1997 Buick passenger vehicle operated by Andrea Martin, 27 years old, of Danville, was traveling south on US 127 and struck the Nissan from behind. The Nissan spun into the north bound lane where it was struck from behind by a 1992 Volkswagen Jetta operated by Jeff Gilpin, 56 years old of Liberty and occupied by Gary Gilpin, age 55 of Yosemite.

The road was blocked for about one hour due to the collision.

All of the occupants were treated for non-life threatening injuries at Ephraim McDowell hospital and University of Kentucky Hospital.
