News Release

DUI Injury Collision on Rock Creek Road

Date of News Release: 02/03/2012

(Post 4, Elizabethtown) -- On February 2, 2012, at 4:28 pm EST, Kentucky State Police Post 4 investigated an injury accident on Rock Creek Road, 2 miles south of Summit. A 1992 Oldsmobile passenger vehicle, operated by Ricky D. Wilson (age 53, of Leitchfield, KY), was traveling north on Rock Creek Road, when the vehicle dropped off of the right shoulder of the roadway. The driver then overcorrected and traveled across the roadway before entering the ditch on the southbound side. The vehicle then struck a metal fence line before coming to final rest facing in a westward direction. Both the driver and passenger, Elizabeth A. Woodrum (age 41, of BigClifty, KY), were treated at the scene by Hardin County EMS and transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital. The passenger was later transported by Hardin County EMS to University of Louisville for treatment of her injuries. The driver, Ricky D.Wilson was charged with DUI 2nd, Wanton Endangerment 1st,Failure of Non-owner to Maintain Required Insurance 1st, No/Expired Kentucky Registration Receipt, No/Expired Registration Plate and Failure to Wear Seatbelt and later lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center after being treated at Hardin Memorial Hospital. The investigation into this crash is ongoing by Trooper Scotty R. Sharp.
