Fatal Collision on KY 210 Near the Hardin/Larue County Line

(Elizabethtown, KY) -- At 6:12 pm Post 4 Troopers responded to an injury crash on KY 210 near the Hardin/Larue County line.

Alma T. Martinez Flores 17, of Hodgenville, KY was operating a 2000 Ford Explorer traveling east on KY 210. For unknown reasons the vehicle left the right side of the roadway, over corrected and lost control of the vehicle. The Explorer went down an embankment, struck a tree and overturned coming to final rest in the upright position.

Flores was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner. All occupants were restrained and alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this point. Flores did not have a drivers license and had only been in the U.S. less than a year.

An adult passenger, 22 year old Christian Carvajal Lopez suffered serious but non life threatening injuries and was flown to UL Hospital. The infant passenger, 2 year old Yamilet Calderon suffered Class A injuries (serious, but non-life threatening) and was taken to Kosair's Children's Hospital.

We were assisted at the scene by the Hardin County Sheriff's Office and Hardin County EMS. Tpr. Bryan Washer is the investigating Trooper.
