Fatal Collision on KY84 in Larue County

Date of News Release: 01/07/2012

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) –- On January 7, 2012, at 5:04 am EST, the Kentucky State Police Post in Elizabethtown investigated a fatal accident on KY84, 1 mile west of Hodgenville (Larue County). A 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue, operated by Amber W. Thurman (age 47 of Hodgenville, KY), was traveling west on KY84, when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the centerline. The driver then overcorrected and lost control of her vehicle, which left the right side of the roadway, struck an earth embankment, and overturned. During the accident, the driver was ejected from the vehicle. The victim, Amber Thurman, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Larue County Coroner. The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
