Injury Collision on KY 93 in Lyon County

Date of News Release: 01/11/2012

(Hickory, KY) -— On January 11, 2012 at approximately 0900AM, a single vehicle crash sent an Eddyville resident to Lourdes Hospital with unknown injuries. Thirty-five year old Kristy Cotton was south bound on KY 93 near Confederate when she encountered slick road conditions due to light rain and fog that was prevailing at the time. Her vehicle ran off the right shoulder of the roadway, and Cotton tried to regain control. She overcorrected, causing the vehicle to run off the right shoulder and strike a culvert. The vehicle continued forward, striking a communication junction box before coming to final rest. She was transported to Lourdes for unknown injury. The Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by Lyon County Sheriff Kent Murphy, Lyon County EMS, and Eddyville Fire.
