Injury Collision on Kentucky 54 in Ohio County

Date of News Release: 01/12/2012

(Henderson, KY) -- Jessica B. Moss was traveling westbound on Kentucky 54 around the one mile-marker. This location is approximately one mile east from the Daviess County line. For an unknown reason, Ms. Moss ran off the right shoulder of the roadway and attempted to regain control by over-correcting or over-steering her 2004 Chevrolet Trail Blazer. Ms. Moss' vehicle then crossed both lanes and slid sideways into the eastbound ditch where she struck a group of trees. Her vehicle then over turned, throwing her from the vehicle. Her vehicle landed on top of her at final rest.

Approximately eight motorists were able to lift her SUV off of her in an effort for extract her from underneath her vehicle.

Ms. Moss was transported by ambulance to Owensboro Medical Health Systems in Owensboro where she is in critical condition.

It is unknown if speed, drugs and/or alcohol is a factor in the collision.

The investigation is continuing.
