Fatal Dirt Bike Collision on KY Route 1559
Date of News Release: 06/25/2010
(Pikeville, Ky.) -- A 15 year old juvenile was ridding a dirt bike on KY Route 1559 in the Grape Creek community of Magoffin County when he struck a Ford Expedition driven by Charles Smith. The 15 year old juvenile was transported to Morgan County ARH where he was pronounced dead by Coroner Kenny Perry. The juvenile was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The collision is under investigation by CVE Officer Tommy Gearheart.
Officer Gearheart was assisted at the scene by CVE Officer Keith Justice, CVE Sergeant Jamie Collins, KSP Trooper Adam Hall, Magoffin County Rescue Squad, and DHP Ambulance service.
