One Killed in a Single Vehicle Collision on Route 80
Date of News Release: 06/16/2010
(Pikeville, Ky.) -- Post 9 received a call of a vehicle on fire on Route 80 near Maytown in Floyd County. Unknown driver was traveling east bound on Route 80 and crossed into the west bound lane striking a cliff. When the Maytown Fire Department arrived at the scene the vehicle was fully engulfed. When the fire was extinguished a body was found inside the vehicle. The body has been sent to Frankfort for autopsy and identification. This collision is still under investigation by Trooper Ryan Hamilton.
