One Killed and One Injured in a Single Vehicle Collision

Date of News Release: 02/27/2010

(Pikeville, Ky.) -- At 12:26 am on 02/27/2010 Post 9 received a call advising a single vehicle accident on RT 194 east at Biggs in Pike County. Troopers John Gabbard U/1035 and Shannon Jones U/253 responded and determined Raymond Lee Farley Sr. was operating a 2004 Kia traveling east on 194 when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a bridge abutment. Mr. Farley was pronounced deceased on scene by Pike County Deputy Coroner Denver Bailey. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to Pikeville Medical Center. KSP was assisted on scene by Pike County Sheriff's Office, Pike County Coroner's Office, Fedscreek Fire Department, Elkhorn City Ambulance Service, and DHP Ambulance Service. The death is being investigated by Trooper John Gabbard U/1035.
