Post Eight 2010 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy

Date of News Release: 07/19/2010

(Morehead, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police Post 8 in Morehead, KY will be hosting their second annual Citizen’s Police Academy starting September 13, 2010 through November 22, 2010. The Citizens Police Academy is an eleven week course that is taught by the Kentucky State Police and is designed for citizens to learn more about the every day operations of the Kentucky State Police. Class topics will include, Legal Processes, Criminal Patrol, Accident Investigations, Traffic Stops, Criminal Investigations, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Drug Investigations, Lab Overview, Special Operations and Trooper Island. Classes will be held at the Carl D. Perkins Center, which is located at 1300 Divide Hill in Morehead.

Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police, Post Eight at 606-784-4127. Applications can also be obtained by visiting http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post8.htm. Anyone 18 years of age living within the Kentucky State Police, Post Eight district is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend.
