One Killed in a Motorcycle Collision on KY 801 S

Date of News Release: 05/29/2010

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On May 29th, 2010 Post 8 Morehead was notified by Trooper Joshua Preece U/708 at 1419hrs that he had drove up on a injury accident on KY801 S, in Rowan County. James Sosbe of Cynthiana Kentucky was operating a 2005 dodge pickup on KY801 southbound when he attempted to make a left turn into Cave Run Pro Shop, Mr. Sosbe crossed the northbound lane in front of Frederick M. Wilson of Morgan County who was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on KY801. Mr. Wilson attempted to stop but the motorcycle started to slide, both the juvenile passenger and operator were ejected from the motorcycle. Mr. Wilson rolled on the pavement and hit the rear of the dodge pickup. Mr. Wilson was unconscious on the scene, he was pronounced deceased on the scene by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt. The juvenile passenger was transported to St. Claire regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. Sgt. Kenneth Bowman U/197 and Detective Donnie McGraw U/813 notified family members at St. Claire Medical Center. At this time no charges are pending. Incident remains under investigation by Trooper Joshua Preece U/708.
