One Killed and Two Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision on KY519

Date of News Release: 04/19/2010

(Morehead, Ky.) -- Jeffrey Porter was operating a Geo Tracker northbound on KY519 when he crossed the center line striking a southbound Dodge Caliber operated by Vickie Gilliam. Mr. Porter was ejected as his vehicle left the roadway and overturned several times. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Porter's passenger, Anna Perkins, was flown from the scene to UK Hospital. Ms. Gilliam's vehicle came to rest on the shoulder of the road. She was transported by ambulance to Morgan ARH. Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors at this time. The accident remains under investigation by Tpr. Josh Lawson.
