News Release

Lincoln County Shooting Investigation

Date of News Release: 01/07/2010

(Stanford, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police Post 7, Richmond, are currently investigating a New Year's Eve shooting which occurred in the Maywood community of Lincoln County. On 12/31/2009 at 11:39 p.m., KSP Troopers responded to 1100 Maywood Road in regards to a shots fired complaint. Through investigation, it was learned that Jeffrey N. Wade, age 41 of Stanford, showed up at a New Year's Eve party at the residence, and was brandishing a semi-auto pistol. Gerald Stutler, age 41 of Nicholasville and others, moved Mr. Wade outside. Once outside Mr. Wade began shooting. One of the shots almost struck Mr. Stutler. Mr. Wade then fled the scene with his girlfriend. Mr. Wade was later located by the Stanford Police Department. Mr. Wade has been charged by KSP with one count of attempted Murder and ten counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st. The Stanford Police Department also charged him with Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Terroristic Threatening 2nd, and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. Mr. Wade was lodged in the Lincoln County Jail. Trooper Michael Keeton is the investigating officer.
