One Killed in a Single Vehicle Collision

(New Liberty, Ky.) -- Dispatchers at Post 5 received a 911 call at 1:39 a.m. this morning (7-2) reporting a single vehicle injury accident on KY 355 in Owen County. As Troopers arrived at the scene, it was discovered that the driver was possibly deceased. Owen County Deputy Coroner Larry Dale Perry later pronounced the driver dead at 2:08 a.m.

The investigation by Trooper Josh Noble revealed that William P. Tackett, a 25-year old from Carrollton, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. It was determined that the vehicle was traveling South on KY 355 when driver lost control, causing the vehicle to crossover and impact the ditch of the Northbound lane. The driver was not wearing his seatbelt. Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor.

Trooper Noble was assisted by the following agencies: Owen County Sheriff's Office, Owen County Life Squad, Owen County Rescue, and the Owen County Fire Department.
