Arrest regarding Milton Robbery on April 27, 2010

(Milton, Ky.) -- Gregory A. Goins, a 44 year old from Madison, Indiana, has been arrested regarding the robbery of the Milton Discount Tobacco store located in Trimble County on April 27. Through an investigation led by Detective Jason Brown, it was determined that Goins is the suspect seen in the surveillance footage using a handgun to rob the store. Goins was located and arrested at a homeless shelter in Louisville by the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force.

Goins had been charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree.

Date of News Release: 04/27/2010

(Milton, Ky.) -- Dispatchers from KSP Post 5 received a call at 10:18 a.m. from the Milton Discount Tobacco store located in Trimble County reporting that a man brandished a handgun while demanding money. A white male suspect approximately 5'7"-5'9" and 150 pounds fled the store with and undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was wearing a blue jean jacket with a white button-up shirt, blue jeans, a dark colored toboggan, and work boots. Photographs of the suspect from surveillance footage are attached. The time stamp on the video does not actually reflect the time of the occurrence.

Detective Jason Brown is leading the ongoing investigation. The following agencies assisted KSP during the investigation: Trimble County Sheriff's Office, Madison (IN) Police Department, and Trimble County Constable Tom Persell. Updates will follow as more information develops.
