Drug Arrest on I-71

(Campbellsburg, Ky.) -- On Thursday February 18, 2010 at approximately 2224 hours Trooper Brandon Maupin Unit # 442 initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 71 northbound in Gallatin County for careless driving. While talking with the operator Amber Babor, age 22, of Lexington, Kentucky Trooper Maupin smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During a consent search of the vehicle, Trooper Maupin located approximately 100 pounds of marijuana and $1706 in cash. Ms. Babor was then arrested and lodged at Carroll County Detention Center for Careless Driving and Trafficking Marijuana.
