News Release

Death Investigation in Gallatin County

Date of News Release: 01/22/2010

(Campbellsburg, Ky.) -- Troopers from Post 5 responded at 4:40 p.m. to investigate the discovery of a human body in a field in the Warsaw community located in Gallatin County. The victim, 25 year old Jason R. Smith, was discovered lying in a field near Center Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Jack Hughes and an autopsy will be performed. Preliminary investigation indicates no foul play.

Assisting at the scene were the Gallatin County Sheriff's Department and the Warsaw Police Department. The investigation is ongoing by Detective Steve Goodale.
