Update on the Logan County Shooting Investigation

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- Suspect Richard Martin was indicted by Logan County Grand Jury on 4 counts of Attempted Murder on a Police Officer. Detective Tim Adams served the indictment warrant on the suspect who is currently incarcerated in the Logan County Detention Center.

Date of News Release: 05/28/2010
(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police Bowling Green was requested by Logan County Sheriff Wallace Whitaker to work a shots fired complaint at T. Barnett Road. Logan County Deputies responded to a complaint of an intoxicated male subject with a gun. Upon arrival of Logan County Deputies, Richard G. Martin fired shots at Deputies and then ran into a shed. Mr. Martin came out of the shed armed with a knife and was tased by Logan County Deputies. Mr. Martin was then taken into custody and turned over to KSP per the request of Sheriff Whitaker. Mr. Martin was transported to the Bowling Green Medical where he was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Martin was then transported to the Logan County Detention Center and is being charged with 4 counts of Attempted Murder on a Police Officer. The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police Bowling Green.
