May 2010 Activity Report

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- The Post Commander, Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of May, 2010.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 2,605 citations of which 686 were for speeding and 17 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 516 for no seatbelts. Thirty-eight were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 362 courtesy notices, investigated 92 accidents, of which one was fatal, and assisted 256 motorists, while inspecting 3,783 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,198 complaints, and opened 82 criminal cases, and made 470 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 742 special details and programs in May.

In May, the nine Communications Officers at Post 3, received and placed a volume of 15,221 requests.
