News Release

Manufacturing Methamphetamine Investigation and Arrest

Date of News Release: 03/31/2010

(Bowling Green, KY) -- Trooper Lanham conducted a traffic stop on Freddie York age 28 of Bowling Green & Joe Wheatly age 29 of Bowling Green. Upon contact with the driver components commonly associated with a meth lab were observed in plain view. Further investigation also led to the discovery of approximately 4 grams of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun. Both Freddie York & Joe Wheatly were taken into custody without incident and the investigation is ongoing. Freddie York was charged with One Headlight, Failure to wear seatbelt, Operating on Suspended O.L., Carrying a concealed weapon, Possession of handgun by a convicted felon, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree 2nd offense-meth, Possession of drug paraphernalia 2nd, Tampering with physical evidence, and Manufacturing Meth 1st offense. Joe Wheatly was charged with Manufacturing Meth 1st, Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon, Carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Both were lodged into the Warren County Jail.
