Criminal Drug Arrest in Hart County

Date of News Release: 03/14/2010

(Bowling Green, KY) -- On 03/13/2010, Tpr. Smith observed a vehicle traveling southbound on North Dixie Hwy in a careless manner. While following the vehicle, Tpr. Smith also observed that the operator was not wearing a seatbelt. A traffic stop was initiated by Tpr. Smith, in which the operator, Marcus Thompson, appeared to be under the influence of drugs at the time. A search was conducted at the scene by the units in which suspected prescription pills, marijuana, and methamphetamine was located on the subject. Mr. Thompson was arrested and transported to the Hart County Jail where he is currently lodged on a $9,500 cash bond. Mr. Thompson was charged with Inadequate Silencer, Failure to wear seat belt, License to be in possession, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense, DUI 2nd Offense & Prescription Controlled Substance not in proper container.
