January 2010 Activity Report

(Bowling Green, KY) -- The Post Commander, Captain Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of January, 2010.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 1,672 citations of which 394 were for speeding and 7 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 146 citations for no seatbelts. Forty-one people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 540 courtesy notices, investigated 116 accidents, of which none were fatal, and assisted 214 motorists, while inspecting 1,967 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 930 complaints, and opened 35 criminal cases, and made 302 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 732 special details and programs in January.

In January, the nine Communications Officers at Post 3, received and placed a volume of 12,458 requests.
