One Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision US 41 & KY 813

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Tammy Blackwell, age 41 of Nebo, KY, was operating a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am southbound on US 41. Michael D. Payne, age 18 of Nortonville, KY, was operating a 2003 Pontiac Montana van southbound on US 41 traveling behind Ms. Blackwell. Ms. Blackwell stopped at the intersection of US 41 and KY 813 to make a left turn onto KY 813. Mr. Payne did not see her vehicle stopped with the turn signal on and rear-ended it. Ms. Blackwell was transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. Mr. Payne was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Trooper Camileo Threatt investigated the crash that occurred on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 7:29 a.m. Trooper First Class John Komar, the Mortons Gap Fire Department, and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
