Injury Crash Involving Motorcycle on KY 254
Date of News Release: 08/10/2010
(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Malcolm Franklin, age 74 of Madisonville, KY, was operating a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on KY 254. He was traveling with a group of other motorcyclists. As the group was traveling southbound a vehicle in front of them stopped abruptly to turn onto KY 260. Mr. Franklin applied his brakes too hard causing them to lock. Mr. Franklin was ejected from his motorcycle. He was flown to St. Mary's in Evansville, IN for treatment. He was wearing a helmet. Trooper First Class John Komar investigated the crash that occurred on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 9:50 a.m. The Hanson Volunteer Fire Department and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
